Diversifying Doulas brings healthy equity to the forefront

The UPMC Pinnacle Foundation is proud to support Patients R Waiting in Lancaster and Lititz. Addressing health inequity through their Diversifying Doulas initiative, the Patients R Waiting program hires women of color to work as certified doulas to provide services to pregnant women of color. Since the inception of the Diversifying Doulas, they have trained and certified 26 women of color. Pictured here is the first certified member of Diversifying Doulas, Lydia Denee Castaneda.
