UPMC Pinnacle Foundation Community Grant Funding
The UPMC Pinnacle Foundation seeks the support of individuals, corporations, foundations, and government entities to achieve the strategic initiatives that guide our efforts to deliver high-quality health care to people throughout our communities.
Each year we use our financial resources to award grants to hospital programs within UPMC in Central Pa as well as community benefit organizations to further our ability to find creative solutions to issues outlined in our strategic plan. We are committed to addressing social determinants of health and reducing barriers to accessing health care that so many people face.
We welcome your participation in our efforts and invite you to submit a grant proposal using one of the links listed below. We ask that you complete the online request form and tell us about the problem you plan to address, your overall goals, and the outcomes you hope to achieve.
Support will be considered for proposals that meet the following criteria:
- Programs or services that address the social determinants of health to meet the needs of the most vulnerable in our community
- Health and lifelong wellness opportunities provided across the 11-county region* served by UPMC in Central Pa.
- Workforce opportunities for UPMC in Central Pa to attract, train, educate and retain our exceptional employees.
Our staff will contact you directly to further discuss your program and request additional information if necessary. Thank you for your interest in working with us to improve the health and well-being of all who reside in the communities we serve.
*Projects eligible for funding must be within one of these counties: Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Fulton, Juniata, Lancaster, Mifflin, Perry, York
Application Deadlines & Board Meeting Schedule:
Applications for board consideration of funding requests can be submitted at any time. However, they are reviewed according to our board meeting schedule.
Please ensure to provide detailed information in your application, including your project’s goals, outcomes, and download, save as a PDF, and attach the [budget spreadsheet]to your application to avoid any delays in processing.The UPMC Pinnacle Foundation Board approves funding requests at their meetings scheduled in January, March, May, July, September, and November. All applicants will be contacted by Foundation staff following the Board meeting. Applications must be submitted by the 15th of the prior month for funding consideration.
Funding will be provided to internal entities of UPMC in Central Pa and to Community Partners (by invitation only). Please allow a minimum of eight weeks for a funding decision. For any questions or concerns, please email reighardma@upmc.edu.
UPMC Pinnacle Foundation Appreciate Great Employee Engagement Program
We are thrilled to announce the launch of Appreciate Great 2024. The UPMC Pinnacle Foundation is committed to showing our appreciation for our employees in both clinical and non-clinical settings, allowing all departments to participate and have some fun. On January 1, 2024, our online portal will be open for applications. We look forward to seeing your departments receive well-deserved recognition for the work they do to provide and support care for our patients. This is a wonderful way to treat each other to a fun experience, recognizing our unique contributions to UPMC in Central Pa.
Ideas could range from chair massages, and sports events to community volunteering, after-hours team events, theme days, picnics, employee recognition, crafts, gifts or tokens of appreciation, and more. Please, no gift cards, e-vouchers, or lottery tickets!
All departments throughout UPMC Central Pa. are eligible to apply for Appreciate Great funding starting 1/1/2024 through 3/30/2024. Funding will be approved up to $25 per person, limited to one request per unit/office.
